IM=XPilates (Integrated Movement
eXercise) is a blend of specific stabilization,
strengthening and flexibility exercises inspired
by the Pilates Method.
Pilates is a method of exercise
and physical movement designed to stretch, strengthen
and balance the body. With systematic practice
of isolating a muscle or muscle group, combined
with specific exercises and focused breathing
patterns, Pilates has become an invaluable form
of fitness. Pilates is not only a fitness endeavor
of is own but has proven to be an important adjunct
to professional sports training and physical
rehabilitation of all kinds.
Pilates practiced on a continual basis yields
numerous benefits. Strength and flexibility,
particularly of the abdomen and back muscles,
as well as co-ordination both muscular and mental,
are key components in an effective Pilate’s
program. Increased lung capacity and circulation
through deep healthy breathing is a primary focus.
Pilates greatly improves posture, balance and
core strength and helps one to experience positive
body awareness.
Pilates uses controlled movements in the form
of mat exercises or equipment to tone and strengthen
the body without adding muscle bulk.
Tracey Diehl teaches the IM=X Pilates floor
work program ranging from beginner to advanced
levels by series of modifications working towards
more advanced positions. She will teach you the
fundamentals of spinal elongation, forced exhale,
pelvic, ribcage, spine stabilization and choreography
using the ring and body bars (3, 6, or 9lbs).
The bars will be added to the more advanced students.
Routines combine elements of strength training
with Pilate’s style exercises to challenge
the student in a safe and progressive manner.
