Aerobics is a series of rhythmic cardio movements designed to increase endurance while toning all areas of the body. This type of exercise increases the BMR (base metabolic rate), meaning the body will use calories more efficiently in order to help you burn off many extra calories. As your body begins to tone you will also strengthen your core and enhance balance and coordination.

Kathy Kelton, an AFAA Certified Group Fitness Instructor, teaches the Aerobic Conditioning class. She utilizes a number of modifications for each step to accommodate beginner through advanced levels. In addition to teaching aerobics, Kathy has been involved in fitness endeavors for 40 years. Growing up, she skated competitively, briefly skating professionally for the Ice Capades. She earned B.S. and M.S. degrees in Health Education. For the past 19 years, she has been successfully teaching health education to the children of Somers Intermediate School. She has a wealth of knowledge regarding anatomy, physiology and nutrition. It is her pleasure to share the gift of health and is looking forward to working with many new clients..
